Last week we celebrated Harmony Day. Our liturgy helped us to focus on and celebrate our cultural diversity, inclusiveness and respect for everyone in our school, community and Australia.
We continue to pray for each other and our world to strengthen us to respect, forgive and to support everyone we meet.
All classes were involved in activities to highlight their responsibility to create harmony in their lives and the lives of others.

π Welcome Kindergarten π Have you ever seen a new Kindergarten class more loved and supported by their community than this? Today we welcomed our new Kindergarten students with a special prayer as they begin the next step of their learning journey with us. They sang songs, played games and even did some writing during the day before everyone left with a smile in the afternoon. We can't wait to see you again tomorrow!

The changes coming to the new primary school curriculum this week
Almost 65,000 kindergarten students will start at NSW public schools this week as a new syllabus that mandates the use of phonics when teaching pupils to read is rolled out in all classrooms.

π Good luck Mr Vane Tempest π Our staff, students and the parent community have all been incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from Tim during the last seven years at St Matthew's. With his focus on learning and positive relationships, St Matt's has always remained a safe place for our community to be. In turn this has helped our community to remain positive and resilient during all that it has endured. In fact, we go from strength to strength, focused on being safe, respectful and responsible learners. We live this every day at St Matthew's and thank him greatly for his leadership. π’ Community Fun Day π‘ Our kids are the epitome of resilience and we are so very proud. It has been a roller coaster of emotions at St Matthew's this week. Amongst reflections on the successes and challenges of the year and tearful farewells, there have been some incredible highs. Here are a selection of photographs from yesterday's Community Fun Day. This day was paid for, in part, thanks to a grant from Resilience NSW for which we are very grateful. Students enjoyed a hot pizza lunch from Aldo's Pizza & Pasta Mcgraths hill and then launced into a full afternoon of play! Face painting, jumping castles and a visit from @Fire and Rescue NSW Station 081 Windsor. made for an awesome afternoon! But could anything be more fun than dunking your teachers?! We think not!! Our Y5 students have the opportunity to nominate themselves for a number of leadership positions.
